HAERE TONU HAERENGA
Day 1 - Monday 9th September 2024
Our journey begins in Wairau. We will travel together in mini vans, stopping at key places to collect kaimahi and whānau, while promoting Haere Tonu with local whānau and media. We will arrive at our accommodation at Ngā Hau e Whā Marae in Ōtautahi, for a formal pōwhiri at 4:30pm.
Te Tau Ihu Transport: The mini vans will leave at 7am from Maataa Waka 56 Main Street, Blenheim. Stopping in Seddon, Kaikoura, Cheviot, Amberley, and Woodend
Day 2 - Tuesday 10th September 2024
World Suicide Prevention Day: Kia Piki Te Ora Symposium at He Waka Tapu. Starting with karakia at 9am, the day will consist of key note speakers, workshops and activities, as well as kai, whanaungatanga and waiata! We will conclude our day with a poroaki (celebration) at the marae.
Day 3 - Wednesday 11th September 2024
The mini vans will head north at 9am on Wednesday morning.
Other details: Once we have received your registration via the link on the QR code, you will receive a confirmation of your registration with further details outlining the Haere Tonu symposium. Travel and accommodation is complimentary if you select to travel in the mini vans. If you wish to use your own vehicle, it will be at your own expense, however if you choose to stay at the marae this is complimentary.
